Booking and Payment for trips in Ecuador - Cotopaxi Travel Company Cia. Ltda.!

We do our best to provide you with the most excellent service possible, so please take a moment to read this section. 

Payments

In order to confirm the reservation of any tour service provided by Cotopaxi Travel Company Cia. Ltda., we require a pre-payment of 30% of the tour price. The remainder is to be carried out before the tour or travel starts. We will not send confirmations, vouchers or flight tickets until the full balance has been received, and we reserve the right to cancel your trip if full payment is not received prior to the start date.
PRICES, SURCHARGES AND CREDIT CARD CHARGES
All prices we advertise are accurate at the date published/advised, but we reserve the right to change any of those prices prior to booking. Before you make a booking we will give you the up-to-date price of your chosen program including the cost of any peak-season supplements, upgrades or additional facilities you have requested.
For all payments made by credit card, a 6% service fee will be added to the cost. The additional costs for every transfer made out to Cotopaxi Travel Company Cia. Ltda. Ecuadorian Taxes and bank transfer fees, will have to be paid by you, the client. We are obligated to charge 12% IVA for every payment made by Ecuadorian citizens.

Wire transfers 


We accept wire transfers or deposits to our bank account, and US$ cash payments at our office in Latacunga or Quito.

Online payments

Payments in US $ with Paypal account or credit cards.
Cotopaxi Travel Cia. Ltda. accepts online payments with PayPal, (if you don't have a Paypal account you can pay with your debit or credit card as a PayPal guest.) Our offered prices and rates are net prices in US$. Depending on the payment method, charges, fees and/or commissions which are chargeable to the client may apply (e.g. paypal +5,5%.) On your final invoice we credit you with the US$ net amount of the prepayment or payment we received.
In order to make a payment with Paypal or credit card to our Paypal account (account holder: John Farris ;;;;; payments.cotopaxi.travel@gmail.com), please confirm the amount (pre-payment and/or remainder) to be charged with Cotopaxi Travel, then click the "PayPal" button below. You will be prompted to fill in the amount and your payment details.

Damage & Loss

In case you, the client, looses or damages any property or equipment provided to you, you will have to pay the total amount for a replacement or the repair of the damaged property or item.

 

Liabililty

Most trips involve going to high-altitude and carry an inherent risk of altitude illness. Similarly, most trips visit remote locations or poorly developed regions where infrastructure is limited. In such places, the risks to health are increased and the ability to treat injury or illness effectively is reduced. Additionally, anything that involves crossing glaciated terrain or snow-bound passes, are hazardous activities with a risk of serious injury or death. By signing these Cotopaxi-Travel Terms & Conditions you acknowledge these hazards and your acceptance of the associated risks. Neither Cotopaxi-Travel nor any of its representatives will be responsible for any illness, injury or death sustained on trips, nor will they be liable for any uninsured loss of personal property.

Cancellations

Cancellation by You

Notice of cancellation by you must be given in writing. Should you cancel, the following scale of charges will apply:

  • - 30 days or more before the Departure Date = loss of deposit.
  • - 29 to 15 days from the start of the trip = 50% of total trip cost
  • - Less than 14 days before the Departure Date = loss of 100% of total trip cost,
  • unless agreed otherwise with cotopaxi travel due to unforeseen circumstances.

Cancellation by Cotopaxi Travel Company

A trip may be cancelled as a result of unforeseen events and beyond Cotopaxi Travel´s control including but not limited to war, riot, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, epidemics or health risks, closed or congested airports, ports or stations, changes imposed by re-scheduling or cancellation of transport, or adverse weather conditions.

Refunds


Cotopaxi Travel will not be responsible for giving refunds in any of the following situations:
  • - Changes to itinerary before or after departure.
  • - Mechanical issues affecting any form of transport on the trip.
  • - Substitution of facilities or personnel.
  • - Late arrival or no-show of you, the client.
  • - Your decision to leave the tour early or miss any activities / meals / accommodations / services during the tour.
  • - The client travelling without necessary documentation including passport, visas, immigration papers or vaccination certificates.
  • - Price differences paid by different passengers aboard the same tour including special last minute rates.
  • - Decisions by any third party that affect the normal running of the tour including by the operator, Ecuadorian government or national park authority.
  • - Any other circumstances on your tour arising beyond the control of Cotopaxi Travel.
